This inspection has been arranged to address concerns over delayed wage payments caused by the economic downturn and to prevent construction site accidents during the holiday period, ensuring that citizens can enjoy a safe and warm holiday season.
The inspection will be carried out jointly by city officials and private sector experts, with a particular focus on verifying the following: whether workers' wages have been delayed, compliance with safety regulations, implementation of fall and drop prevention measures, risks of collapse in scaffolding and other structures, maintenance of the surrounding environment at construction sites, establishment of emergency contact networks, and the organization of duty rosters.
Any minor or urgent issues identified during the inspection will be corrected immediately on-site, while safety measures for more serious or high-risk matters will be completed before Chuseok to prevent accidents in advance.
A city official stated, "We will actively guide the prevention of wage arrears for workers and do our utmost to ensure on-site safety management so that there are no casualties or property damage at construction sites during the holiday period."
