On September 19, the Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had booked a 19-year-old man, identified as A, on charges of public indecency and are currently investigating the case.
A is accused of committing an obscene act in front of a 10-year-old elementary school student, referred to as B, on the road in front of the Uijeongbu Youth Center at around 4:00 p.m. on September 9.
B informed her parents of the incident, and they reported it to the police.
Later, at around 5:00 p.m. on September 18, B's parents found A committing another obscene act at the same location, apprehended him, and handed him over to the police.
At the time, adult products were found in A's bag, and it was revealed that he was scheduled to enlist in the military four days later.
The police have secured closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and are investigating whether there are additional victims and clarifying the exact circumstances of the incident.
