Toss Bank announced on September 19 that it will participate in the 2025 Gyeonggi International Webtoon Fair to directly promote its "Easy Employment Contract" service to creators, including webtoon assistant artists, and to help spread a culture of fair contracts.
The Gyeonggi International Webtoon Fair is the largest webtoon-focused exhibition in Korea. This year, Toss Bank is the only financial institution participating in the fair. The decision to join the event was made following a proposal from the organizers, who took note of Toss Bank's campaign for webtoon assistant artists. The purpose is to directly promote the "Easy Employment Contract" on-site and to support a safe working environment for creators.
Toss Bank will operate a variety of programs at the event. At the Toss Bank booth, there will be an exhibition on the working environment and rights of webtoon assistant artists, and small souvenirs will be given to visitors who participate in the booth events.
There will also be stage programs. In the "Toss Bank 'Easy Employment Contract' with Webtoon Assistant Artists" session, the in-house documentary "Webtoon Labor" will be screened, followed by a panel talk. The documentary addresses the labor realities and contract practices in creative fields, delivering the message that contracts are a means of protecting those who work. The panel talk will feature Moon Yujin, CSR manager at Toss Bank, and Lee Jaemin, director of the Cartoon Culture Research Institute. The panel talk will take place on the 19th from 4:30 p.m. for about one hour.
A Toss Bank representative stated, "Improving contract culture is directly linked to healthy financial practices, so we have been striving to establish a fair contract culture. We will continue our efforts to reduce financial inconveniences in various fields and to promote the values of inclusion and innovation throughout society."
