The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 18th that it held a plenary meeting of the pan-government task force (TF) aimed at improving issues related to U.S. visas and officially launched the TF.
The pan-government TF includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as participating agencies. To ensure that the opinions of Korean companies are fully reflected during consultations with the United States and to enable joint responses from both the public and private sectors, the Korea Enterprises Federation and the Korea Federation of SMEs are also participating.
During this TF meeting, in preparation for the upcoming Korea-U.S. working group meeting on visa issues, participants reviewed difficulties faced by Korean companies in obtaining visas, their demand and plans for dispatching personnel, and other matters necessary for consultations with the United States. The meeting also discussed the agenda items that the Korean side will raise with the U.S. to improve visa issues, as well as the overall consultation plan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "The pan-government TF will continue to hold regular meetings in the future to address challenges related to the entry of personnel from Korean companies investing in the United States and to discuss a coordinated government-wide response for improving visa-related issues."
