Muan County to Stage Ballet Performance of "Swan Lake" Swan Lake Performance Poster.

Muan County in South Jeolla Province will present the essence of classical ballet to its residents, accompanied by the melodies of Tchaikovsky. On September 18, the county announced that it will host a narrated healing ballet performance of "Swan Lake" at 7:20 p.m. on September 30 at the main theater of the Seungdal Culture and Arts Center.

This performance is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Management Support Center, and co-hosted by Muan County and the Seoul City Ballet Company. It is the second of four performances selected for the 2025 Regional Performing Arts Distribution Project, making it especially meaningful as it shares works that have been vetted through a nationwide competition with local residents.

This rendition reinterprets Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece with a modern touch, making it accessible for the entire family to enjoy. Voice actress Song Yeonhee, known for her role in the animation "Jjanggu," will provide narration to help convey the story, while dancers from the Seoul City Ballet Company will deliver delicate performances and choreography. The stage will feature scenic designs depicting forests and lakes, and special costumes embodying swans are also expected to captivate the audience.

In particular, this stage incorporates acrobatic movements to enhance its dynamism, creating a convergence performance that combines narration, dance, and acrobatics. It is anticipated to showcase a new form of art that blends classical and contemporary elements. Admission is 5,000 won for Muan residents and 10,000 won for non-residents. Tickets can be reserved through the Seungdal Culture and Arts Center website or by phone.

County Governor Kim San stated, "This performance aims to provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy high-quality culture and arts, while also offering a time for emotional healing. We will continue to make Muan County a place where art is accessible in everyday life."
