The city of Busan (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) will hold a prize draw event for citizens who apply for and use the 'Second Round of Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons' through the local currency, Dongbaekjeon, as part of efforts to revive the local economy and boost regional consumption.

This event automatically enters users who receive and pay with consumption coupons via Dongbaekjeon. A total of 20,110 winners will be selected by lottery, with each receiving up to 50,000 won in policy support funds. The total support amount is approximately 100 million won. The event runs from September 22 to October 31, and anyone who spends a cumulative 100,000 won or more in consumption coupons via Dongbaekjeon during this period will be automatically entered.

Winners will receive Dongbaekjeon policy support funds as follows: 50,000 won for first place (10 people), 30,000 won for second place (100 people), and 5,000 won for third place (20,000 people). The city has expanded the number of winners from about 5,000 in the first round to about 20,000 in this second round, quadrupling the scale so that more citizens can benefit.

The first round of the event was held from July 21 to August 31, with winners selected from among citizens who applied for consumption coupons via Dongbaekjeon and spent at least 180,000 won, receiving support funds.

The results for this round will be announced in November through the Busan Is Good Dongbaekjeon app and website.

In addition to the event, those who apply for consumption coupons via Dongbaekjeon can enjoy various other benefits. Users of the Dongbaekjeon check card can receive additional perks such as a 2% discount at traditional markets based on their previous month's spending, and the card can also be used conveniently for payments on the public delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo.'

Alongside the consumption coupon event, the city has increased the Dongbaekjeon cashback rate to up to 13% from September to further stimulate local consumption and boost small business sales. Merchants with annual sales of up to 1 billion won receive a 13% cashback rate, those with sales between 1 billion and 3 billion won receive 11%, and merchants with sales exceeding 3 billion won are not eligible for cashback. Currently, there are 175,532 Dongbaekjeon-affiliated merchants, of which 159,514 are small business merchants with annual sales under 1 billion won.

Kim Bongcheol, Director of the Digital Economy Bureau, said, "We hope that this event, linked to the second round of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons, will provide benefits to more citizens and further stimulate consumption. With the basic Dongbaekjeon cashback rate raised to a maximum of 13% from September, we expect this event will have a significant impact on revitalizing the local economy and increasing small business sales."
