Development of 1.77 Million Square Meters in Daejeo-dong Area
Expectations for SME-Dedicated Complex and Advanced Industry Hub
Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, led by President Shin Changho) has officially launched the "Busan Research and Development Special Zone Advanced Complex District Development Project," which is being jointly promoted with Korea Land and Housing Corporation, by holding a kickoff meeting for the detailed design service on September 11.

This project is a large-scale development initiative to establish advanced industries, research facilities, and an industrial complex on approximately 1.77 million square meters of land in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu.
The project will be developed simultaneously with the nearby Daejeo Public Housing District, which will accommodate 19,000 households, with the goal of creating a residential environment that enables proximity between work and home.
In particular, the plan is to build an innovative ecosystem centered on future-oriented industries such as marine bio, shipbuilding and marine, information and communication technology (ICT), and smart components. Of the total industrial land, 10.8% will be allocated as a dedicated complex for small and medium-sized enterprises, laying the foundation for the growth of local SMEs. The attraction of advanced research facilities is also expected to bring in specialized research talent.
Busan Urban Corporation expects this project to generate approximately 800 billion won in production and added value, as well as create 9,000 jobs. The corporation aims to invite construction bids by the end of next year, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local construction industry.
President Shin Changho stated, "The development of the Busan Research and Development Special Zone is an opportunity to drive innovative change in the industrial landscape of western Busan," adding, "We will expedite the project to promote balanced regional development and revitalize the construction industry."
