This seminar was organized for strategy executives of major domestic conglomerates and provided a comprehensive overview of policy and legal changes that companies will face in the 2025-2026 business environment, as well as key decision points for M&A and governance in response to these changes.
In his opening remarks, Kim Sunghyun, CEO of KB Securities, stated, "We should not interpret the rapid changes in the capital market and the new policy and regulatory environment as mere institutional changes, but rather as opportunities for the future," adding, "I hope today's seminar will serve as a starting point for discovering opportunities together with our clients amid the rapidly changing market."
The seminar consisted of two main sessions. First, Park Myungho, a professor at Hongik University, delivered a presentation on "Assessment of the 2026 Budget Proposal and Recommendations for Companies." Professor Park reviewed the direction of the budget proposal and the national fiscal management plan, provided an in-depth interpretation of government policy, and offered practical insights for companies to establish mid- to long-term roadmap strategies.
In the second session, Wi Choonjae, an attorney at Yulchon LLC, presented on "Amendments to the Commercial Act and Corporate Response Strategies." Attorney Wi explained how recent and upcoming discussions on amendments to the Commercial Act will affect board operations, shareholders' meetings, internal controls and disclosures, and governance communication, and proposed specific response strategies that companies should consider.
During the "Guest Speaking" session held alongside lunch, Woo Changyun, a professor at Asan Medical Center, attended and shared insights related to health management, receiving a positive response from attendees.
Joo Taeyoung, Head of Corporate Finance (IB) at KB Securities, stated, "The greater the uncertainty, the more strategic judgment on M&A, the resilience of governance, and swift decision-making determine corporate value," adding, "KB Securities will continue to provide integrated solutions covering policy, legal systems, and transaction execution to support our clients' strategic transformation and sustainable growth."
The M&A Division of KB Securities offers a comprehensive range of services, including M&A advisory, acquisition finance, governance restructuring, and tender offers, and is especially strengthening its advisory capabilities for corporate clients in the areas of M&A and governance.
