The Gumi Cultural Foundation in North Gyeongsang Province will hold a regular concert to share the achievements of the "Onmaeul Choir," which is being operated as part of the "Village with Culture" project, with local residents.
The concert will be held three times: on the 23rd at 7:30 p.m., the 26th at 6:30 p.m., and the 27th at 4:30 p.m., taking place in Seonsan-eup, Goa-eup, and Dogae-myeon, respectively.
The first performance, titled "Seonsan Edition," will be held at 7:30 p.m. on the 23rd at the Seonsan Culture Center Grand Hall. Alongside the choir, a Janggu percussion team will perform to add excitement to the stage.
The "Goa Edition," taking place at 6:30 p.m. on the 26th at the Goa-eup Culture Center outdoor stage, will feature special performances by the Lohasong Children’s Choir and the Senior Sarang Gori Choir, presenting a stage of harmony that transcends generations.
The "Dogae Edition," set for 4:30 p.m. on the 27th at the Dogae Happiness Sharing Center outdoor stage, will see the Onmaeul Dogae Choir and the Onmaeul Seonsan Choir perform together, with a special stage by the Gumi Ladies Chorus Choir also prepared.
This regular concert is significant as it is more than just a performance; it serves as a venue for the village community to come together as one through song. Since the stage is created by the voluntary participation of residents, it is expected to provide an opportunity for people to share and communicate across generations and social classes.
In particular, the "Village Joint Performance" scheduled for October 22 at the Gumi Arts Center Grand Hall will bring together all the village choirs in one place to showcase their achievements, serving as a platform to confirm the expansion and future potential of the local cultural community.
Lee Hanseok, CEO of the Gumi Cultural Foundation, stated, "The Onmaeul Choir is a project that warms hearts through participation in everyday culture and the arts. I hope that through this performance, the passion and achievements of the choir members will be widely shared, and that a sustainable village cultural community will be firmly established through the medium of song."
