Reenacting Traditions to Pray for the Festival’s Safety and Prosperity
With the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival approaching on the 19th, Geumsan County held a prayer ceremony on September 15 at Madangbawi in Jinaksan Mountain, wishing for the successful hosting of the event.
On this day, Geumsan County Mayor Park Beomin, members of the festival organizing committee, heads of local organizations and institutions, and residents attended the event. They paid tribute to Kang, the first person to cultivate ginseng in Geumsan, and reenacted the tradition of praying to the mountain spirit of Jinaksan for the safety and prosperity of the festival.
The festival will be held for ten days from September 19 to September 28 at the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo Square, under the theme "Children, I Love You." Through hands-on experiences and performance programs, the festival aims to bring together residents and visitors in a celebration of unity.
