Prince Harry said, "Some British media seem to want to believe that I'm unhappy, but I am happy with my current situation and the life I live," adding, "I also feel I have a lot of support from the British public." King Charles III and Prince Harry Reunite After 19 Months... "A First Step Toward Royal Reconciliation"
Prince Harry, who married American actress Meghan Markle in 2018, declared independence from the royal family in 2020 and moved to the United States. During this visit to the UK, Prince Harry met his father, King Charles III, for the first time in 19 months. Previously, Prince Harry had conflicts with King Charles III, his older brother Crown Prince William, and others over family issues and how to respond to media coverage of their private lives.
Subsequently, through appearances on American television in 2022 and 2023 and the publication of his autobiography "Spare," he revealed in detail the clashes he had with King Charles III, Crown Prince William, and Princess Kate Middleton, causing a significant stir. He also continued lawsuits against tabloids that invaded his privacy, seeking damages, and sued the government to restore his royal security status, both of which the royal family reportedly opposed. Regarding this, Prince Harry said, "It's not about revenge; it's about accountability." Speaking about his wife Meghan Markle, he said, "She tells me, 'Just stay true to the truth,'" adding, "That's the phrase I always rely on."
Meanwhile, during his visit to Kyiv, Prince Harry was notably popular, receiving applause from Ukrainians wherever he went. He said he believes this is thanks to his ten years of military service and his efforts for disabled veterans, such as founding the Invictus Games for wounded soldiers. He also remarked that his approach to life-doing things his own way-resembles that of Ukrainians, and added, "Do you know who else was like that? My mother," referring to the late Princess Diana.
