Collaboration Among the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and Six Major Economic Organizations
Large-Scale Discounts on Transportation, Accommodation, and Travel Packages

In an effort to revitalize regional economies and boost domestic tourism, the government will launch a nationwide public-private partnership campaign titled "2025 Autumn Travel" until November, with the participation of four government ministries and six major economic organizations.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, along with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Employers Federation, the Federation of Korean Industries, the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Federation of SMEs, and the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises, held the proclamation ceremony for the 2025 Autumn Travel campaign on the fifth floor of the Hiker Ground building in Jung-gu, Seoul, on September 16.

The participating organizations not only agreed to jointly promote the campaign, but also signed a business agreement to support the revitalization of regional economies and domestic tourism. In addition, popular K-pop singer Chuu, known for her clear voice and bright energy, was appointed as the campaign's ambassador.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, which are overseeing the campaign, plan to offer large-scale travel discounts on transportation, accommodation, and travel packages during the campaign period. They will also host themed travel package events (Travel Trend Hall), promote lesser-known tourist destinations, and organize events featuring the character Janmang Loopy to further enhance the autumn travel atmosphere.

Regarding discounts, ▲In the transportation sector, there will be 50% off tourist trains, a 10,000 won discount on the "Naeilro Pass," a 20,000 won discount on local airline routes, a 30% discount on express and intercity buses to depopulated areas, and up to 20,000 won in Onnuri gift certificates for eco-friendly, safe-driving travelers. In the accommodation sector, there will be "Accommodation Sale Festa" discount coupons (20,000 to 50,000 won), discounts on quality-certified lodgings (20,000 to 30,000 won), and a 10,000 won discount on campgrounds. In the travel package sector, there will be up to 30% off on special autumn travel promotions for tourism ventures and tour passes, and an average 45% discount on six themed travel programs (Travel Trend Hall). Detailed information on how to purchase, usage periods, and sales channels for these discounts is available on the official Autumn Travel campaign website.

A wide variety of travel content will also be offered. Regional travel programs that received great responses last year, such as one-day train trips (39,000 won per person, 1,000 participants) and "Mystery Tours" (100 participants) where travelers join influencers or embark on trips without knowing the full itinerary, will continue this year. Newly opened tourist attractions during the campaign period will also be introduced, including "Janggeumi Park" in Jeongeup City, opening in mid-September; the National Jinan Plateau Forest Healing Center, opening in October; and the Namhae Mulmi Coastal Observatory, reopening after renovations. In addition, 27 lesser-known "hidden tourist spots" will be discovered and introduced, such as Hwagae Garden on Gyodongdo Island in Ganghwa County and Forest Jinju in Wolasan, Jinju City.

A campaign featuring the popular character Janmang Loopy will also be held. At 19 of the hidden tourist spots and 11 newly designated or depopulated areas among the "2025-2026 Korea Tourism Top 100," visitors can receive limited-edition "Autumn Travel x Janmang Loopy" emoticons (30,000 available). Local governments are also participating in the campaign. North Jeolla Province and the Korea Rural Community Corporation will offer "Tour Pass" discounts during the campaign period, while Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province will hold a receipt event to support accommodation and food and beverage expenses for travelers.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will promote 51 "Youth Villages" and village experience events, and will select and introduce the best islands to visit in autumn among the 88 "Islands You Want to Visit" designated annually to promote island tourism. The ministry also plans to actively publicize railway fare discounts and a 55% discount on Socar rentals in depopulated areas, as well as the expansion of Socar Zones, following a business agreement signed on August 29 with depopulated areas, Korea Railroad Corporation, and Socar.

The ministry will also promote the "K-Food Gourmet Belt," traveling breweries, and kimchi festivals as tourism products, expand remote workcation sites to rural areas, and promote "One Company, One Village" sisterhood agreements.
