The donation ceremony, held at the Buk-gu District Office on the same day, was attended by Seo Hyosook, Chairperson of the Ulsan Forest Social Cooperative, Jung Younghwan, Director of Ulsan Eliya Hospital, Park Cheondong, Mayor of Buk-gu, and about 10 other officials.
Ulsan Forest is an urban forest created by Buk-gu, Ulsan, on the former Donghae Nambu Line railway site, with a total length of 7 kilometers and a total area of 14.8 hectares. Over the past three years, including the Songjeong section completed at the end of last year, large-scale urban forests have been established in areas such as Ihwajeong, Sincheon, and Hogye, with a total budget of 12 billion won, receiving strong support from local residents.
Jung Younghwan, Director of Ulsan Eliya Hospital, stated, "While treatment is important at a hospital, I believe the ultimate goal is healing that can comfort both the body and mind of patients. For Ulsan Eliya Hospital, which is connected to the Ulsan Forest walking trail, Ulsan Forest is a great asset and source of pride. As a member of the local community, I am very proud that there is a sanctuary like Ulsan Forest in the city, and I am delighted and honored to contribute, even in a small way, to the first cultural healing festival for local residents, which is being held through music for the development of Ulsan Forest."
The Ulsan Forest Social Cooperative, which is organizing this event, was established this year to ensure the sustainable development of Ulsan Forest, with a focus on volunteer groups dedicated to maintaining the forest and local residents' associations.
The Ulsan Forest Love Music Festival will take place on November 1 at 2 p.m. at the Ulsan Forest Square inside the former Hogye Station. The event will begin with a mini-concert by the Wolseong Happy Virus Orchestra, followed by a volunteer singing contest and performances by invited singers. Around 300 members and citizens visiting the forest are expected to come together and enjoy the festival.
