48-Hour Movement Ban Issued for Five Adjacent Cities and Counties
The Central Accident Response Headquarters for African Swine Fever (ASF) announced on September 14 that an ASF outbreak had been confirmed at a pig farm located in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. The headquarters has dispatched an initial quarantine team and an epidemiological investigation team to control access and conduct an epidemiological survey.
The pigs being raised at the farm will be culled in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for emergency response.

In addition, the headquarters has issued a 48-hour temporary movement ban for livestock facility workers and vehicles in five cities and counties adjacent to Yeoncheon County (Paju, Dongducheon, Yangju, and Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province, and Cheorwon in Gangwon Province).
The headquarters stated, "We urge relevant agencies and local governments to make every effort to implement quarantine measures such as rapid culling, thorough testing, and intensive disinfection," and called on pig farmers to strictly adhere to quarantine guidelines.
