On September 12, the Andong City Council in Gyeongbuk held the first plenary session of its 260th extraordinary meeting, where it newly formed the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts. Assemblywoman Jeong Boksoon was appointed as chairperson, and Assemblywoman Kim Saerom as vice chairperson.
The Special Committee on Budget and Accounts consists of a total of seven members: Chairperson Jeong Boksoon, Vice Chairperson Kim Saerom, as well as Assemblymen Lee Jaegap, Son Gwangyoung, Lim Taeseop, Kim Sunjung, and Kim Jeongrim. The committee will be active until June 30 of next year.
The third supplementary budget proposal submitted by the executive branch is an increase of 258.7 billion won. The council plans to make a final decision on the supplementary budget and the fund management plan at the second plenary session scheduled for September 19.
Chairperson Jeong Boksoon stated, "Together with the members of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, I will do my utmost to ensure that Andong City's finances are managed soundly and efficiently through meticulous review."
The launch of this Special Committee on Budget and Accounts is expected to serve as an important test not only for the review of the supplementary budget but also for assessing the overall management of Andong City's finances. In particular, the 'two-top system' led by Jeong Boksoon and Kim Saerom is anticipated to enhance both stability and rigorous financial scrutiny.
