'Eurasian City Diplomacy Group' Launched... Connecting Busan and Beijing Companies

Delegation Comprised of Eight Busan Beauty and Healthcare Companies
Economic Exchange Held in Beijing to Boost Entry into the Chinese Market

The city of Busan and the Busan Global City Foundation held an economic exchange event in Beijing, China, to support the entry of beauty and healthcare companies into the Chinese market.

The city announced on the 14th that, together with the foundation, it conducted exchange activities for a delegation of Busan companies in Beijing on September 10 and 11 (local time) as the first visit of the "2025 Eurasian City Diplomacy Group."

This business delegation was comprised of eight companies in the beauty and healthcare sector. On September 10, the delegation visited the KOTRA Beijing Trade Center, where they received practical information on strategies for entering the Chinese market, how to utilize trade insurance, and trademark registration procedures. On the following day, September 11, they held a "K-Beauty and Healthcare Business Consultation Meeting" at the Beijing Grand Metropark Hotel, engaging in a total of 48 consultations with 16 Chinese companies, amounting to 3.3 million dollars (approximately 4.58 billion won). This marks the first case where the activities of the Eurasian City Diplomacy Group have resulted in tangible economic outcomes.

That evening, a "K-Beauty and Healthcare Business Exchange Meeting" was held, further expanding the network between companies from Busan and Beijing. During the event, the foundation signed an agreement with the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to continue private exchanges, and cultural exchange programs such as traditional music and Korean dance performances also took place. In addition, five young people from Beijing were appointed as "Busan-Beijing Youth Global Ambassadors" and will participate in future youth exchange programs.

On September 12, the delegation visited a humanoid robot exhibition center to observe the current state of the Chinese robotics industry, concluding their schedule.

Lee Joonseung, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Busan, stated, "This visit to Beijing is the first case in which the Eurasian City Diplomacy Group has expanded from friendly exchanges to economic exchanges," adding, "We hope that this will not be a one-time event, but that we will scale up our efforts so that Beijing becomes a companion city in the economic sector as well."

Deputy Mayor Lee also emphasized, "As we have started our journey with economic exchanges, we will continue to offer a variety of programs for students in our next destination, Ulaanbaatar."
