Chuseok arrives early at department stores. The stores are filled with a rich and diverse array of Chuseok gift sets, beckoning excited customers preparing for the holiday.

Shinsegae Centum City will begin selling Chuseok gift sets at the food event hall on the first basement floor from September 16 to October 4. This year, the selection includes not only the traditional gift sets of meat, seafood, and fresh produce, but also alcoholic beverages, health foods, tea, and snacks.

Since 2004, the store's signature premium gift sets have consistently sold out every holiday season. The "5-STAR" series has established itself as a staple luxury gift. The 5-STAR line is produced by Shinsegae Department Store, which oversees everything from sourcing renowned domestic producers to production, cultivation, and processing, all under strict standards and procedures.

Key products include the "5-STAR Premium Korean Beef The No. 9," "5-STAR Premium Select Farm Hamper," and "5-STAR Premium Traditional Dried Yellow Croaker Special."

The "Shinsegae Female Korean Beef" gift set, the only Korean beef brand offered by a department store distributor, has increased its supply by more than 20%. The department store explained that, in response to the recent popularity of grilling sets, they have increased the quantity of grilling sets containing special cuts such as chuck flap tail and rib finger by about 30% to prepare for this Chuseok.

Representative products include Shinsegae Female Korean Beef Dabok, Shinsegae Female Korean Beef Gourmet Obok, Premium Korean Beef Dabok, and Female Korean Beef The Prime Dabok.

In the fresh produce category, despite significant damage from cold weather and wildfires this year, Shinsegae Department Store buyers responded to price volatility and secured reasonable prices by diversifying the production sites of "Shinsegae Select Farm," which are personally selected by buyers traveling across the country.

Shinsegae Select Farm refers to designated production sites chosen by buyers who travel nationwide. According to the department store, through this Select Farm system, they manage not only cultivation but also distribution and sales, striving to ensure both price competitiveness and quality.

This Chuseok, the store is also elevating the standard of fruit gifts by introducing, for the first time, concierge fruit gifts using paulownia wood and the Concierge Basket Special featuring fruit baskets. Key products include the Concierge Basket Special, Select Farm Apple Mixed Manbok, and Rich Apple Pear.

In the seafood category, although this year's catch volume has decreased significantly and price volatility has been high, Shinsegae Department Store buyers established reasonable prices through a "preparation-first strategy" such as securing supply through advance contracts. The supply has increased by nearly 10% compared to last year, and customers can enjoy peace of mind by verifying the "seafood traceability system."

Representative products include Suhyup Damiwon Special Dried Yellow Croaker Obok, Shinsegae Silver Hairtail Set, Seongsanpo Silver Hairtail Set, and Hairtail Tilefish Set.

To celebrate the holiday, a variety of local specialty products from different regions have also been prepared.

"Shinangchon Soy Sauce" from Gijang, Busan, known for its rich flavor developed through over six months of natural fermentation, is in high demand during the holiday season as it is used in various holiday dishes. This year, a wider range of package options is available for more practical purchases.

Busan's handmade rice cracker brand "Idaemyeonggwa," with a 70-year tradition, is already popular, as evidenced by numerous customer inquiries. Gift sets named after Busan-related words such as "Haeundae" and "Gwangalli" evoke the city. A significant portion of customers order these products for delivery to other regions. Earlier this month, "Idaemyeonggwa" held a live broadcast on the Shinsegae Department Store application "Shinbaek LIVE," and due to high customer interest, a second live broadcast is scheduled for September 18.

Other local specialty products include the "Gijang Seaweed and Kelp Set" and the "Jukbang Anchovy Set," which features anchovies caught using traditional methods in Namhae, Gyeongnam.
