Guro District in Seoul (District Mayor Jang Inhong) will host the "Alley Starlight Festa - Eat, Listen, Revive!" on September 19 at the International Food Culture Street on Saemallo 16-gil in Guro 5-dong. The event is organized by the Guro 5-dong International Food Culture Street Revitalization Committee and will offer a variety of sights and entertainment for about three hours, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The "Alley Starlight Festa" is a street festival that blends tradition and modernity, global cultures, and K-culture. The program features a diverse lineup, including folk music from around the world, fusion Korean traditional music, popular trot performances, K-pop cover shows, and street dance. There are also interactive programs that merchants and citizens can enjoy together. The festival will begin with consecutive performances by trot singers, followed by a stage from the girl group "Harlequin." Afterwards, there will be a special performance by Seol Undo and a talent show featuring Guro 5-dong merchants and citizens.
Various events for visitors will be held throughout the venue. In addition to the performances, there will be hands-on spaces where guests can participate directly, and discount coupons usable at local businesses will be given to audience members. On the day of the event, some sections of Saemallo 16-gil will be closed to vehicles.
The district aims to widely promote the appeal of the Guro 5-dong International Food Culture Street through this festival and attract outside visitors to help boost the local economy's self-sufficiency. In particular, as a neighborhood festival created together by residents and merchants, it seeks to strengthen community bonds and promote mutual prosperity in the area.
