In an apartment complex in Germany, police were dispatched in the middle of the night due to a doorbell that kept ringing nonstop. The unexpected cause of the commotion turned out to be a snail.

Recently, German media outlets such as Bild reported that, shortly after midnight on August 20 in the Schwabach area of Bavaria, residents at an apartment were awakened by the incessant sound of the doorbell ringing.

Lisa (30), a resident at the scene, said, "I woke up around 12:30 a.m. because the doorbell kept ringing. There was no reason for anyone to visit that late at night, so at first, I thought it was a prank." However, the ringing was more than just a simple prank. She also received a call from a neighbor upstairs saying, "The doorbell keeps ringing," and eventually decided to call the police.

The strange thing was that every time the bell rang, neither the installed motion sensor nor the entrance camera detected any movement. Lisa recalled, "There wasn't even a shadow of a person. The building itself is old, and the creaking sounds made it even scarier."

After receiving the report, the police thoroughly searched the yard, the hallway, and even the basement, but could not find anyone suspicious. Then, among the residents gathered at the entrance, Lisa's husband, Dominik (30), discovered something near the doorbell button. It was a snail crawling over the button.

Dominik explained, "There was a clear trail of mucus on the doorbell sensor. The snail kept setting off the doorbell as it crawled across the button." Once the culprit was identified, the police carefully removed the snail and released it into the nearby grass.

This incident is currently being met with cheerful reactions on German social media and in local news, being dubbed "the most peaceful police dispatch."
