A male customer who wielded a weapon and injured another customer and an employee at a gimbap restaurant in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, was apprehended by the police.
According to the Gimhae Jungbu Police Station on September 12, at around 2:54 p.m. that day, a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, picked up a weapon from the cooking counter at a gimbap restaurant in Sambang-dong, Gimhae, and attacked a female employee in her 50s, Ms. D, and a male customer in his 40s, Mr. C.
Mr. B, who was stabbed by the weapon, suffered minor injuries, while Mr. C sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, neither of their lives is in danger.
It was confirmed that Mr. A and the victims did not know each other.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he "felt uncomfortable being stared at."
The police have booked Mr. A on charges of attempted murder and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident. They plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
