Councilor Eun Bonghee Proposes Ordinance to Support Farmers and Farmers' Organizations

A legal basis is being established to enable farmers in Nam-gu, Gwangju to strengthen their expertise through systematic support.

The Nam-gu Council of Gwangju announced on the 12th that the ordinance bill on supporting farmers and farmers' organizations in Nam-gu, sponsored by Councilor Eun Bonghee during the 314th temporary session, has passed the review of the Planning and General Affairs Committee.

The ordinance bill stipulates matters necessary for fostering and supporting farmers and farmers' organizations to enhance their professional capabilities, aiming to lead the development and transformation of local agriculture and rural communities.

The main provisions include: ▲the scope of projects, ▲improving the management capabilities of farmers and farmers' organizations, ▲pilot projects for the dissemination of agricultural and rural technologies, and ▲education and training programs.

Councilor Eun stated, "With this ordinance amendment, I hope that local farmers will receive more systematic support, enhance their expertise, and contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural communities."

Meanwhile, the ordinance bill is scheduled to be enacted through deliberation and resolution at the second plenary session of the 314th temporary session, which will be held on the 16th.
