Building a Healthy Community through Public-Private Cooperation
Health Check-up Vouchers Provided to Participating Residents
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on the 12th that it held the launch ceremony for the "Galmae Citizen Health Network" at the Galmae Health Life Support Center, marking the official start of its activities with participation from local residents and related organizations.
Approximately 80 people attended the ceremony, including graduates of the health leader training program, volunteers, local clubs, resident representatives, and staff from the local administrative welfare center and related organizations. They shared the goal of building a healthy local community and reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration.
The event proceeded with an introduction of the network's structure and future activity plans, followed by a health pledge. Participants concluded the event on a high note by chanting together, "Healthy Me, Healthy Neighbors, Healthy Galmae!"
Going forward, the Galmae Citizen Health Network will operate as a resident-led health activity organization, focusing on health leaders and self-help groups to carry out health initiatives in areas such as chronic disease prevention, exercise, nutrition, oral health, and rehabilitation. In addition, the public health center and local organizations plan to collaborate on a variety of health projects.
In particular, participating residents will be provided with premium comprehensive health check-up vouchers (covering seven types), among other incentives, to encourage voluntary participation.
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "I hope the Galmae Citizen Health Network becomes a solid foundation for protecting the health of all residents," adding, "We will continue to promote various projects to improve community health through public-private cooperation."
