After obtaining a revised air transport business license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in March, Parata Airlines successively completed the introduction of its first aircraft (A330) on July 31, passed the emergency evacuation test on August 11, completed a demonstration flight on August 22, and introduced its second aircraft (A320) on September 6.
Subsequently, on September 8, the airline received its final Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, thereby completing all administrative procedures required for launch.
The Air Operator Certificate is a comprehensive process that verifies whether a licensed airline has properly established the personnel, facilities, and maintenance systems necessary for safe operations.
During the inspection on this day, relevant agencies jointly reviewed several matters in preparation for the first Jeju route flight scheduled for the end of September: domestic terminal facilities such as boarding gates and arrival/departure routes; plans for regular Jeju flights and increased frequency; strategies to expand air travel convenience for residents, including international route plans in collaboration with domestic and overseas travel agencies; and safety measures for buses connecting the airport and terminal.

Governor Kim Jin-tae stated, "Yangyang Airport has effectively been closed for the past two years, but now Parata Airlines is fully prepared and about to launch the Yangyang-Jeju route. If routes expand in the future to Gimpo, Japan, and Southeast Asia, Yangyang Airport could develop into a hub airport."
He added, "The province also plans to gradually expand financial support for regular, charter, and inbound routes. We will continue to work closely with airline representatives to ensure that past difficulties are not repeated."
Meanwhile, Parata Airlines plans to gradually expand its operations, starting with domestic routes and mid-range routes to Northeast and Southeast Asia such as Japan and Vietnam, and extending to long-haul routes from 2026. In addition to revitalizing Yangyang Airport, the airline also aims to attract foreign tourists by operating chartered flights in collaboration with global travel agencies.
