The opening ceremony on the first day, September 13, will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a pre-ceremony performance by the Hoengseong Saxophone Wind Orchestra "Phantom," followed by a calligraphy performance by artist Kim Hyejin of Chambut. In addition, 75 types of free experiences will be offered at the promotional experience booths operated by lifelong learning institutions and organizations, and 28 lifelong learning clubs will showcase the skills they have honed through stage performances.

Notably, neighboring cities and counties will also participate in this festival. Yeongwol County will operate a promotional experience booth and present a special performance by the Yeongwol Ssangyong Aerobics Club, while Hongcheon County will also run a promotional experience booth, further enhancing the significance of regional exchange and cooperation.

Unlike other events that focus on commercialism or attracting tourists, this year's festival is designed so that people of all ages can come together to share the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes with learning. The festival aims to provide residents with both the joy of staying and the pleasure of learning.

The festival will also feature a variety of associated events, including: the "Youth Empathy" literacy learners' gathering; the Hoengseong County Library "Book Festival"; the Saemaul Library Hoengseong County Branch "Youth Competition"; the Hoengseong County Youth Center "Family Cooking Contest"; the Hoengseong County Social Economy Support Center "Onmaeum Market"; and the Social Welfare Corporation Happy Sanghoe's "Happy Festa," among many other diverse programs.

Through this Lifelong Learning Festival, Hoengseong County plans to promote a culture of learning and sharing among residents and to revitalize the local community.

Nam Bokhyeon, head of the County Education and Sports Division, stated, "I hope this festival will become a valuable opportunity for all residents to feel the value of lifelong learning and share the joy of learning," adding, "We will continue to develop even more enriching programs so that learning can naturally become a part of residents' daily lives."
