This year marked the inaugural festival, which was organized to widely promote the excellence of Goseong Hanwoo beef and to revitalize the local Hanwoo farming community through increased consumption.
Approximately 10,000 people, including tourists and local residents, visited the festival venue. The event featured a variety of programs such as a Hanwoo self-grill charcoal restaurant, a beach deck grill zone, recreational activities (busking performances, magic shows, etc.), a livestock machinery exhibition, and a promotional center for Goseong Chikso cattle. These diverse offerings received an enthusiastic response, especially from families.
The most popular attraction during the festival, which became a source of hope for local Hanwoo farmers, was undoubtedly the Hanwoo beef discount sales. Various cuts, including sirloin, tenderloin, bulgogi, and four other types, were sold at discounts of up to 45% off the regular price, greatly stimulating consumer demand.
All 21 head of Hanwoo steers prepared by local Goseong farms for the festival were completely sold out. A tourist at the event commented, "These days, Hanwoo beef is expensive, so it's hard to buy it often. I'm very satisfied that I could purchase such fresh and high-quality Hanwoo at an affordable price."

An official from the Livestock Distribution Division stated, "We planned this discount event to support livestock farmers struggling with oversupply in the Hanwoo market and rising production costs this year." The official added, "It was especially meaningful because Hanwoo Association members, including producers, participated directly, allowing them to communicate with consumers and feel a sense of pride."
This festival achieved significant results not only as a sales event but also in raising the profile of Goseong Hanwoo. In particular, the "Goseong Chikso Promotional Center" attracted visitors' attention by showcasing the unique genetic characteristics and breeding environment of Chikso cattle, which differentiate them from regular Hanwoo, through photo exhibitions and various informational materials.
Ham Myeongjun, Governor of Goseong County, said, "Through this festival, we were able to promote the excellence of Goseong Hanwoo and provide small but meaningful support to Hanwoo farmers." He added, "We will continue to systematically foster the Goseong Hanwoo and Goseong Chikso brands and develop the festival in a sustainable and progressive direction."
