This recognition is the result of the program's high evaluation in terms of eco-friendliness, excellence, and safety, as it provides practical and customized resource circulation education for residents, children, and youth.

Since 2023, Yangpyeong County has operated resource circulation education tailored to local characteristics at the Yangpyeong Resource Circulation Center, located in Muwang-ri, Jipyeong-myeon. The program, which focuses on proper waste separation methods and hands-on recycling activities, includes field trips to landfills, recycling sorting facilities, and polystyrene reduction plants, educating participants on the entire process from waste generation to disposal and resource circulation. This comprehensive approach has received enthusiastic responses from residents.

The program is primarily operated in collaboration with local organizations and schools, earning recognition for its regional relevance. Recently, it has attracted interest and participation from outside the area and even internationally, including Nepal, making it a nationally and globally recognized model case.

Jeon Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, stated, "Being selected as an outstanding environmental education program by the Ministry of Environment proves that Yangpyeong County is a leading local government in practical resource circulation education in daily life. We will continue to create a clean and attractive Yangpyeong through on-site education in which residents and students participate together."

Meanwhile, Yangpyeong County is expanding access to its on-site experiential resource circulation education at the Yangpyeong Resource Circulation Center by accepting applications not only by phone and in person, but also online (via Naver Place). The county also plans to further expand the program by operating it twice a month on weekends and continuously increasing its offerings.
