First, the company has tripled the size of its "Easy Premium" lineup, a small-portion premium Korean beef set designed for one- or two-person households. The "Sohwakhaeng (Small but Certain Happiness) Gift" series, which offers 1+ grade or higher premium Korean beef in 300g individually packaged portions to enhance freshness and convenience, has been steadily growing in popularity among customers in their 20s and 30s. While only three items were available during the previous Lunar New Year, the Sohwakhaeng Gift series has been expanded to a total of eight varieties for this Chuseok. Additionally, new individually sealed containers have been introduced to make storage easier.
The department store has also launched "Taste Curation" gifts, which segment Korean beef by marbling, thickness, and cut. These gift sets are designed to let customers explore and discover their own preferences. Lotte Department Store’s meat buyers participated in the curation, offering: ▲ "Marbling Curation," which allows customers to taste the same cut in three different grades (Grade 1, Grade 1+, Grade 1++); ▲ "Thickness Curation," which provides the same cut and grade in four different thicknesses (1mm for shabu-shabu, 3mm for bulgogi, 0.7cm for grilling, and over 1cm for steak); and ▲ "Cut Curation," which combines the same grade of beef across various cuts (sirloin, tenderloin, striploin, and specialty cuts).
Customers can also find "Specialty Korean Beef," raised using unique methods to ensure the highest quality, at a range of price points. The lineup includes "Mikyungsan Korean Beef" from Hamyang, Gyeongnam, raised on fermented feed; "Chikso," a native breed from Ulleungdo; and "Low-Carbon Korean Beef," certified by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs-all offered as reasonably priced gift options.
To meet the growing demand for "high-end Korean beef," the company has strengthened its selection of "ultra-premium Korean beef gifts" priced at over 1 million won. This includes "El Premier Female Korean Beef," Lotte Department Store’s high-end Korean beef brand. This product line features carefully selected female cattle of 1++(9) grade, known for their rich flavor, and only the most prized cuts are chosen. For this Chuseok, the supply of El Premier products has been increased by 10% to meet high demand, and a new "El Premier Female Korean Beef Classic Gift" priced in the 500,000 won range has been introduced.
Ahn Woong, Chief Buyer of the Meat & Seafood Team at Lotte Department Store, stated, "We will continue to propose differentiated gourmet experiences by carefully considering the individual tastes of our customers in line with evolving food culture trends."
