Reviewing Agricultural Specialty Promotion Plans and Sharing Local Issues
Miryang City, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on September 9 that it held the September on-site Eup-Myeon-Dong Chief Meeting at the Seonbi Culture Experience Center on September 8. The city reviewed plans for stabilizing livelihoods ahead of Chuseok and promoting local agricultural specialties, while sharing current local issues.
Prior to the meeting, participants visited the Guyen Hall at Yerim Seowon, where they learned about Miryang’s Confucian culture and national heritage utilization projects. They also toured the Seonbi Culture Experience Center, which has been operating on a trial basis since July, to check on its operations and facilities.
The Seonbi Culture Experience Center is operated with the goal of fostering ethical awareness among modern people and nurturing character in youth, based on the Seonbi spirit and regional Confucian cultural assets of Miryang-born scholars, including Kim Jongjik.
Subsequently, key livelihood initiatives were discussed in the lecture hall of the Seonbi Culture Experience Center.
The main topics included: ▲ an all-out effort to restore the population of Eup, Myeon, and Dong in the second half of 2025; ▲ expanding the issuance of the Miryang Love Gift Certificate to 100 billion won and offering a 15% discount (from September to December); ▲ the Sunshine Miryang Theme Park relay payback event (Rural Theme Park in September, Yoga Culture Town in October, Companion Animal Support Center in November, and Nature Eco-rium in December); ▲ additional implementation of support projects for agricultural waste disposal; ▲ and local emergency rooms and night clinics.
In addition, plans for stabilizing livelihoods in Eup, Myeon, and Dong, strategies for promoting local agricultural and specialty products, recent local issues, and suggestions from the Eup, Myeon, and Dong chiefs were also discussed.
Mayor Ahn Byunggu emphasized, "This on-site Eup-Myeon-Dong Chief Meeting was arranged so we could directly observe and experience issues closely related to citizens’ daily lives. As close cooperation between city departments and the Eup, Myeon, and Dong chiefs is essential to achieving tangible results that residents can feel, I urge responsible administration to drive real change."
