Busan Gwangalli Alley Festival 'Namcheon Badaro Road to the Sea' to Be Held in September and October

Busan Gwangalli Alley Festival 'Namcheon Badaro Road to the Sea' to Be Held in September and October

As part of the alley commercial district revitalization support project by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, the "Namcheon Badaro Road to the Sea" event will be held twice, in September and October, in the area from Sehung Market to Gwangridan-gil near Gwangalli. Unique shops belonging to the merchants' association will participate, offering visitors a variety of prize events and special shopping experiences.

This alley commercial district, located on Namcheon Badaro in Suyeong-gu, Busan, is hosting a festival prepared directly by the "Namcheon Badaro Road to the Sea" merchants' association, designed for both residents and tourists to enjoy together. The event will take place twice: September 13 (Saturday) to 14 (Sunday), and October 18 (Saturday) to 19 (Sunday), running each day from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. throughout the Sehung Market and Gwangridan-gil area.

During the event, visitors to stores affiliated with the merchants' association can receive various prizes through purchase, experience, and photo certification events. Beyond simple consumption, it is an opportunity to discover and enjoy hidden gem shops within the alley.

The official ambassador for the event is YouTuber "Taebaki," with Chillingout CEO Kim Siyeon serving as the merchants' association president. Other key members include Dongkyung Bapsang Chef Kim Taewoo, a Michelin chef in Busan, and Kwak Donghoon, CEO of Chohitsatsu and an expert in various F&B brands. Well-known local shops such as Hitte Roastery, Ancien, Picnic, and Rainstreet, already drawing attention in Gwangalli, are joining forces to revitalize the commercial district. This area is home to a diverse range of businesses, including restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and retail stores.

A representative of the merchants' association, which is hosting the event, stated, "This event was organized to showcase the charm of hidden stores throughout the alley to citizens and tourists, and to create an opportunity for the commercial district to unite and continue growing. I believe building a district where merchants can firmly establish themselves in the Gwangalli area, which is now sought after not only in Busan but nationwide and even worldwide, will play a significant role in tourism development. We hope to reveal the hidden charm of Namcheon Badaro, the shortest route to the sea, and to let the world know about the unique appeal of this alley that only residents have known until now."

Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency hope that this event will invigorate the local commercial district and establish a model for an alleyway economy that can satisfy both residents and tourists.
