Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province is recruiting disinfection personnel to prevent the introduction of severe livestock infectious diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever, and highly pathogenic avian influenza.

On September 9, the county announced that it will publicly recruit 24 temporary workers to be stationed at disinfection checkpoints and farm control posts within the county until September 11.
The selected personnel will be deployed on-site for a total of six months, from next month until March of the following year, which is designated as a special quarantine period. The work locations are Ganam and Ssangam disinfection checkpoints (20 people), as well as Donggye disinfection checkpoint and farm control post (4 people). These positions will operate in three shifts or fixed daytime shifts, respectively.
The recruited personnel will play a key role in on-site quarantine by disinfecting vehicles and people entering and leaving livestock farms and related facilities, and issuing disinfection certificates.
Applicants wishing to apply must visit their local township or town administrative welfare center by September 11 to submit an application. Detailed recruitment conditions and required documents can be found in the announcements section of the county office website.
County Governor Choi Youngil stated, "Disinfection is the first line of defense against the spread of livestock diseases and the front line in protecting the local livestock industry. We hope that many responsible and diligent individuals will show interest and actively apply."
