The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on September 10 that it participated in the '2025 Istanbul Food Expo' held in Istanbul, T?rkiye from September 2 to 5, representing the Korea Pavilion, and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) worth a total of 3.2 million dollars.
The Istanbul Food Expo is the largest business-to-business (B2B) food exhibition in the Middle East and Eurasia. This year, approximately 1,350 food companies participated, showcasing a wide variety of products, and the event was a great success, receiving enthusiastic responses from buyers and consumers around the world.
T?rkiye, with a population of 88 million, is a massive market and a transportation and logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia. As of August, the provisional export value of K-Food reached 4 million dollars, marking a 58.6% increase compared to the same period last year. With growing interest in K-Dramas and K-Food, the market is considered to have high export potential in the future.
Jeon Gichan, Director of Export Foods at aT, stated, "T?rkiye is a key region for expanding the export territory of K-Food, given its large population, market size, and its role as a trading hub connecting Europe and the Middle East. We will spare no effort in supporting the promotion of K-Food exports to T?rkiye, including logistics and marketing, so that K-Food can take deeper root in the Turkish market."
