Korea Southern Power and Pusan National University Join Forces to Foster Next-Generation Energy and AI Talent

Korea Southern Power and Pusan National University have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in next-generation energy technology development, talent cultivation, and the digital and AI sectors.


On September 8, Korea Southern Power and Pusan National University held a meeting at the headquarters of Korea Southern Power to discuss research and development strategies, educational collaboration, and responses to digital transformation. This meeting was organized to proactively respond to the paradigm shift in the energy industry and the acceleration of digital transformation, as well as to secure future competitiveness through collaboration with a leading regional university.


During the meeting, a range of measures were discussed in depth, including expanding cooperation in power generation facility research and development, cultivating customized talent to meet industry demands, and jointly responding to the digital and AI sectors. Both organizations plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to broaden their research and development efforts and to train specialized personnel, thereby contributing to strengthening the national competitiveness of the energy industry.


Kim Jundong, CEO of Korea Southern Power, stated, "We will work closely with regional universities to achieve mutual growth with the local community and to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's power generation industry."


Choi Jaewon, President of Pusan National University, also emphasized, "Through joint research with the industrial field, we will establish a cooperative structure where students and researchers can grow together and become a strong partner in enhancing the nation's energy competitiveness."
