This meeting is expected to serve as an important opportunity to establish a close cooperative relationship with the government to address local pending issues.

In his meeting with Song Miryung, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Governor Jeon emphasized the need to establish a national hub for systematically fostering the convergence industry of forest medicinal crops, which will become a future food industry and a key pillar of agriculture, through the creation of the Singwangjae (Jideok-gwon) Forest Medicinal Crop Specialized Industrial Complex. He highlighted that, as the global bioindustry rapidly expands, it is essential to develop a comprehensive base for this sector.

He also requested cooperation in selecting the Jinan Plateau Smart Farm Complex for the government project supporting low-carbon energy joint-use facilities. He stressed that, alongside the establishment of the Jinan Plateau Smart Farm Complex, building a foundation for shared use of renewable energy is a key strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower agricultural production costs.

Subsequently, in his meeting with Kim Yoonduk, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Governor Jeon prioritized proposals for expanding transportation infrastructure to develop Jinan County into a transportation hub in the eastern region of North Jeolla Province.

First, he requested the inclusion of three road improvement projects in the "6th National Highway and Local Road Construction Plan" and national funding support: National Route 26 (Jinan to Wanju Soyang in North Jeolla, 69.8 billion won), National Route 26 (Jinan to Jangsu in North Jeolla, 81.7 billion won), National Route 30 (Jinan Baekhwa to Samrak, 36 billion won), and Local Route 49 (Jinan Sangjeon to Donghyang, 29 billion won).

In particular, regarding National Route 26 (Jinan to Wanju Soyang section), he requested active attention and support to ensure that, as soon as the project is included in the 2026 construction plan, the detailed design work can begin immediately, in order to guarantee road safety and residents' right to mobility.

He also proposed that the "Jeonju to Gimcheon Yeonghonam Inland Railway (passing through Jinan)" project be included in the 5th National Rail Network Construction Plan. If realized, this project would establish Jinan County as a key hub for inland transportation in the eastern region.

Additionally, he requested that the "Jeonju to Muju (passing through Jinan) Expressway" be included in the 3rd Expressway Construction Plan, expecting it to significantly contribute to revitalizing regional tourism and improving the logistics distribution network.

Furthermore, he proposed policy support for the "Gunha District Old Residential Area Improvement Support Project" and the "2nd Priority Relocation of Public Institutions to Areas with Population Decline," both of which aim to enhance transportation infrastructure, improve residents' quality of life, and create new future industries.

The Gunha District Old Residential Area Improvement Support Project, with a total project cost of 17 billion won, aims to provide basic living infrastructure in the Gunhari area, such as the establishment of a community health center, village shelters, and remodeling of senior centers, thereby enhancing resident convenience and providing spaces for community activities.

Governor Jeon stated, "I sincerely ask for deep interest and support in promoting national projects for the future development of the county and the improvement of residents' welfare," adding, "I will do my utmost to ensure that, through this meeting, the county's transportation infrastructure and local foundation can take a significant leap forward."

Meanwhile, the county expects that, if these proposals are realized, Jinan will play a leading role in the forestry and agricultural sectors and that the expansion of road networks, industrial and tourism revitalization, and improvements in the logistics distribution network across the entire eastern region of North Jeolla Province will create multifaceted synergy effects.
