Namyangju City Connects Divided Urban Areas... The Gyeongui-Jungang Line covering construction is a highly challenging project as it is carried out on tracks where trains operate continuously. In particular, the process of installing structures above the tracks requires the highest level of precision and safety among all phases of the project.

This phase is especially significant as it is a symbolic project that will physically connect Dasan 1-dong and Dasan 2-dong, which had been separated by the railway.

The city is prioritizing safety in the construction process by establishing a close collaborative system with the National Railway Authority and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH).

In addition, the city is gradually preparing to create a three-dimensional integrated cultural park utilizing the space above the covered section after the construction is completed. Approximately 58,000 square meters of land will be transformed into a multidimensional cultural park that blends culture, relaxation, and the arts.

The park is scheduled to break ground in the second half of 2026, and the city plans to actively incorporate citizen feedback during the design process to create a nature-friendly open space accessible to everyone.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "It is very meaningful that the covering construction, which connects a city divided by the railway into spaces for culture, parks, and youth housing, is proceeding safely," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the park to be created above this space enhances the quality of life for citizens and becomes a focal point for communication and unity within the local community."
