On the morning of September 9, at a briefing held in the main conference room of city hall, Mayor Park discussed the development of an attraction strategy for the "Gwangmyeong K-Arena Basic Strategy Establishment Project."
This project aims to detail the internal and external environment analysis, establish the vision and objectives, and set basic planning guidelines to attract the arena. The study will be conducted over a two-month period, concluding in November.
In order to determine the optimal site for attracting the K-Arena, the city plans to comprehensively analyze factors such as transportation conditions, government policies, and legal and institutional environments. The final site will be selected through consultation with the "Gwangmyeong K-Arena Attraction Policy Task Force (TF)" and expert advisors.
Once the site is finalized, the city will establish the vision and objectives for the arena's construction and develop a differentiated direction by analyzing domestic and international case studies. Based on this, the city will formulate basic planning guidelines and design ancillary facilities that incorporate shopping, culture and content, and tourism, thereby concretizing the business's feasibility.
Mayor Park emphasized, "To complete Gwangmyeong Siheung New Town, the largest public housing district in the Seoul metropolitan area, as a premium new city, large-scale cultural infrastructure is essential. As this is a core strategic project that will drive Gwangmyeong's future growth, we will make every effort to secure the arena performance hall in line with government policy."
