Experiential Tour Combining Cheongyang Chili Peppers and Goji Berries
Spreading Nationwide Through Social Media
The 2030 generation is flocking to Cheongyang, opening a new stage for local travel.
Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province announced on September 9 that the one-night, two-day "Gochu Party Tour," held in collaboration with the travel community "Travelholic" from September 6 to 7, concluded with enthusiastic participation from Millennials & Gen Z.
This tour, which reinterpreted Cheongyang's signature specialties-Cheongyang chili peppers and goji berries-through a youthful lens, is quickly spreading on social media, earning the assessment that "the countryside is hip."
The tour was conducted under the concept of "Hungry·Resty·Greedy·Sleepy," offering a variety of programs that combined food, relaxation, and hands-on experiences.
Participants experienced the charm of Cheongyang through activities such as a chili pepper goods game, goji berry tasting, foot baths and hammock relaxation, a unique local food dinner, starlit campfire, counseling sessions, and making aroma foot bath kits.
In particular, travel creators from the 2030 generation joined the event and shared the experience in real time via Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms.
They also introduced Cheongyang through their personal accounts, earning the reputation of being "a new travel destination attracting the attention of the 2030 generation."
On social media, positive reviews are continuing, such as "I never knew Cheongyang was such a charming place," and "A local trip that offers both healing and fun."
An official from the county stated, "This tour was a new attempt to reinterpret local resources in a way tailored to each generation," adding, "We will continue to expand experiential tourism programs to make Cheongyang a vibrant and attractive destination for young travelers."
