Actress Go Hyun-jung (54) is drawing attention after it was belatedly revealed that she personally rescued a child actor who was nearly swept away by waves during a drama shoot.
On September 7, the mother of child actor Jo Seung posted a video taken at a drama filming location on her social networking service (SNS), writing, "Seung's lifesaver, actress Go Hyun-jung." The video shows Go Hyun-jung warmly talking with Jo Seung and gently patting his head.

Ms. A recounted, "Last year, while filming 'Praying Mantis,' we were at a beach in a remote island village in Shinan. As soon as an excited Seung saw the sea, he ran toward it. Just as the once-calm waves suddenly threatened to engulf him, actress Go Hyun-jung was the first to dash over from afar and rescue him in a flash."
Go Hyun-jung reportedly saved the child without hesitation, even though her costume became completely soaked. Ms. A expressed her gratitude, saying, "She threw herself to save him. I don't know how to thank her enough." She added, "As his mother, I was so shocked that I froze on the spot. I truly want to thank her again."
Ms. A continued, "Even after the shoot ended, she kept playing with Seung and showing him affection. Go Hyun-jung was truly like an angel. The drama featuring Go Hyun-jung and Jo Seung is SBS's Friday-Saturday series "Praying Mantis: The Murderer's Outing," which aired its first episode on September 5. The show is directed by Byun Young-joo and stars Jang Dong-yoon, Jo Sung-ha, and Lee El, among others.
"Praying Mantis: The Murderer's Outing" is a high-density crime thriller depicting the joint investigation between serial killer mother Jung I-shin (played by Go Hyun-jung), known as "Praying Mantis," and her detective son Cha Soo-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon). In the drama, Go Hyun-jung portrays Jung I-shin, a serial killer who targets those who have committed violence against children and women.
