Maximum Purchase Limit of 500,000 Won per Person
On September 18, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., Guro District in Seoul (District Mayor Jang Inhong) will issue a total of 14 billion won worth of “Guro Love Gift Certificates” ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Through this initiative, Guro District aims to stimulate local consumption and boost sales for small business owners.
The gift certificates can be purchased after signing up through the Seoul Pay Plus app, with a maximum purchase limit of 500,000 won per person. The certificates are valid for five years from the date of purchase.
This issuance offers a 2% higher discount benefit compared to previous releases. Buyers can receive an immediate 7% upfront discount at the time of purchase, plus a 5% cashback in Seoul Pay gift certificates based on the previous month’s spending, paid on the 20th of the following month. This adds up to a maximum benefit of 12%. However, the program may end early if the budget is exhausted.
The Guro Love Gift Certificates can be used at more than 21,000 affiliated stores, including traditional markets, neighborhood supermarkets, restaurants, and hospitals or clinics. In addition, residents can receive a 30% income tax deduction at year-end tax settlement, providing substantial support that is expected to be widely felt by the community.
Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, stated, “The Guro Love Gift Certificate is a system that stimulates local spending and provides tangible benefits to residents. I hope that, with this Chuseok as an opportunity, more residents will use the gift certificates and join in the recovery of the local economy.”
