On September 9 at 2 p.m., the Taebaek City Cultural Foundation will hold a forum at the Taebaek Dreaming Art Center's Mining Housing Nuri Cube to explore the identity and sustainable development strategies of Taebaek's signature summer event, the Hangang and Nakdonggang River Source Festival.
This forum is organized to discuss strategies for revitalizing Taebaek's cultural and tourism festivals, based on an analysis of tourism big data and the achievements of the 10th Hangang and Nakdonggang River Source Festival, which was successfully held for nine days from July 2 to August 3.
The forum will be chaired by Professor Kang Sangkuk of Gangneung-Wonju National University. Officials from Taebaek City, the Taebaek City Cultural Foundation, and Professor Bae Junho of Halla University will participate, engaging in an in-depth discussion on the future development of the city's leading summer festival based on their respective expertise.
A representative from the Taebaek City Cultural Foundation stated, "It is significant that we are able to discuss the future of our signature festival while the excitement is still fresh," adding, "We hope this forum will serve as a catalyst for Taebaek's leading festival to take another leap forward."
