An astonishing accident occurred on a highway in Long Island, New York, when a vehicle launched into the air and soared across six lanes. Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries, and no other vehicles or pedestrians were harmed.

According to the New York Post and Long Island News 12 on September 4 (local time), a 2012 Honda sedan driven by a man in his 70s veered off a service road on Long Island's Sunrise Highway on September 3. The vehicle sped across a grassy embankment, bounced off a hill, and soared into the air, crossing all six lanes of the highway before striking a tree on the opposite side of the road.

The entire incident was captured on the dashcam of a following vehicle. In the footage, the driver can be heard exclaiming, "What is that?" in shock as the car suddenly flies across the sky, highlighting the urgency of the moment. A witness recalled, "It looked like a meteor streaking across the highway. At first, I didn't even realize it was a car."

Local authorities suspect that the accident was caused by a sudden seizure suffered by the driver. They also believe the vehicle was likely traveling well above the speed limit. Although the Sunrise Highway is known as one of the busiest roads in Long Island, miraculously, there were no other casualties.

The police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident, and it has not yet been decided whether the driver will face charges. The driver is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
