Gwangju Dong District to Host 5th Dongmyeong Coffee Walk in November

Over 100 Local Brands Join "Taste Voyage" Experience

Gwangju Dong District announced on September 8 that the 5th Dongmyeong Coffee Walk will be held on November 8 at the Dongmyeong-dong Cafe Street and the parking lot annexed to the Asia Culture Center (ACC).

The Dongmyeong Coffee Walk is an event that Dong District has organized for five consecutive years to strengthen the cultural identity of the region based on Dongmyeong-dong's unique alley culture and coffee content, and to establish a differentiated urban culture brand where residents, merchants, and local creators participate together.

This year's festival is themed "Taste Voyage: A Journey to Find Your Preferences," with over 100 local brands specializing in coffee, desserts, books, and bread participating to offer a rich array of sights and experiences.

The event will feature: ▲ "Just Award," a coffee tasting event with 25 booths ▲ "No Run, Just Walk," a Dongmyeong-dong cafe and exhibition tour ▲ coffee busking performances on the main stage and throughout the alleys ▲ "Coffee Cantata," a seminar and talk show with coffee ▲ "Dongmyeong Duty-Free," where visitors can find goods, coffee beans, and local products ▲ "Dongmyeong Atelier," an art experience zone featuring coffee dyeing and coffee ink painting ▲ "Dongmyeong Marche," an emotional local market.

This year, with "travel" as the theme, unique experiential elements will be offered, including: ▲ issuance of Coffee Walk passports and boarding passes (departure hall) ▲ a lounge for tasting and performances ▲ a duty-free store selling goods and local products ▲ a cafe tour destination with an alley travel concept ▲ an experience zone combining hands-on activities, markets, and busking ▲ an arrival hall where visitors can receive rewards, all designed to provide a special experience for attendees.

Lim Taek, head of Dong District Office, stated, "Dongmyeong Coffee Walk has established itself as a nationwide coffee festival based on the region's unique alley culture and coffee content," adding, "We hope that this year, many citizens and tourists will participate, discover their preferences, and enjoy a relaxing time."

Meanwhile, participants for the 5th Dongmyeong Coffee Walk will be recruited through the Dongmyeong Coffee Walk website during September.
