On September 8, Kakao Pay announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HD Hyundai Electric regarding this initiative.

Under the agreement, the two companies will establish a system that links HD Safety Pay Points, which are incentives for safety activities by HD Hyundai Electric employees, with Kakao Pay Points.

Employees of HD Hyundai Electric and its in-house partner companies will be able to convert their HD Safety Pay Points into Kakao Pay Points for use.

By partnering with HD Hyundai Electric following previous collaborations with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Samho, Kakao Pay is accelerating the expansion of its business-to-business (B2B) operations.

Through this open point partnership, partner companies can enhance employee welfare and increase the efficiency of incentive distribution, while Kakao Pay expands the user experience and distribution network of Kakao Pay Points.

Seungjun Baek, Vice President of Business at Kakao Pay, said, "We expect that the synergy between Kakao Pay’s extensive payment ecosystem and HD Hyundai Electric’s advanced safety management culture will lead to improved employee welfare."

Hujin Yoon, Chief Safety Officer (CSO) and Executive Director at HD Hyundai Electric, stated, "Through this partnership, as well as initiatives to improve safety awareness, capacity-building education, and safety enhancement campaigns, we will strive to create a safer industrial environment."
