Full-Scale Entry into the Local Market
Yoon's English announced on September 8 that it has signed a contract with Hanoi National University of Foreign Studies in Vietnam for the development and supply of Korean language textbooks within Vietnam.
Since 2021, the Vietnamese government has designated Korean as its first foreign language and has been promoting related educational initiatives. This contract is part of a project led by Hanoi National University of Foreign Studies, and Yoon's English will jointly carry out the "Vietnam Korean Language Textbook Development Project" with the university. As a result, Yoon's English will not only invest in the development of the textbooks but will also secure the copyrights and publishing rights, taking charge of their distribution and supply to universities throughout Vietnam.

The writing of the textbooks will involve a large number of local professors, led by Tran Thi Huong, head of the Department of Korean Language and Korean Culture, who is a pioneer in Korean language education in Vietnam. A representative from Yoon's English stated that this project holds particular significance, as it will be the first Korean language textbook for university students written by Vietnamese professors. Professor Lee Haeyoung, who teaches at the Graduate School of International Studies at Ewha Womans University and previously served as the chairperson of the King Sejong Institute Foundation, will participate as a supervisor to ensure the textbooks meet international academic standards and are practical for use in local classrooms.
The textbooks will be published in three volumes-two beginner-level and one intermediate-level-by June of the following year, and will be used as official textbooks for required major courses in the Department of Korean Language and Korean Culture at Hanoi National University of Foreign Studies starting in September of the same year. Yoon's English also explained that the textbooks will subsequently be distributed to universities and bookstores across Vietnam, making them available for local learners who wish to study Korean.
A representative from Yoon's English said, "We are delighted to jointly develop Korean language textbooks at a time when the Korean Wave in Vietnam is leading to increased popularity and interest in the Korean language," adding, "Starting with this project, we plan to explore a variety of educational business opportunities in the Vietnamese market."
