On September 7, both directions of the Yongin Light Rail Transit in Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, were suspended but resumed operations after nine hours.
According to Yongin City, all train services were halted from the first train at 5:30 a.m. that day. The light rail operator began restoration work and resumed operations at around 2:25 p.m.
Yongin City notified residents of the suspension and resumption of service through safety alert text messages.
A city official stated, "It appears that a malfunction occurred in the signal system," adding, "We suspect a software issue within the network and will work to prevent a recurrence."
