Two Recipients Selected: Individual and Organization
Plaques to Be Presented at Gangwon Youth Day Event
Gangwon Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on the 7th that it has selected two recipients-one individual and one organization-for the '2nd Gangwon Youth Award.'
The 'Gangwon Youth Award' is presented to individuals and organizations residing in the province who are between the ages of 18 and 45 (with organizations required to have a youth representative or at least 50% youth members) and who serve as role models for the community and the development of youth policies. This is the second year the award is being presented.
The recipients of the 2nd Youth Award were selected by the Youth Award Selection Committee following a document review and on-site investigation, from a pool of 21 candidates (12 individuals and 9 organizations) who were recommended by mayors, county governors, and heads of various institutions in the province.
The individual award was given to Won Woorim, who serves as the president of the Yanggu County Youth Association and as secretary-general of the Gangwon Youth Entrepreneurs Association. He has been recognized for his ongoing volunteer efforts and charitable activities, including donations of rice, scholarships, and support for neighbors in need. He was also acknowledged for his contributions to improving local living conditions for youth and supporting youth employment.
The organizational award went to Alex Analysis Laboratory Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Man-gi), an environmental pollutant analysis company based in Wonju. The company was recognized for its efforts to create jobs for local youth, promote youth entrepreneurship in the province through collaboration with universities, provide tailored job training and field practice in environmental analysis, and address environmental inequality in vulnerable facilities.
The award recipients will receive a plaque from the Governor of Gangwon Province, and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the '2025 Gangwon Youth Day' event in Gangneung at the end of October.
Kim Manho, Director of Economic Affairs for Gangwon Province, stated, "We are grateful for the passion and dedication shown by the Youth Award recipients, and I believe they will serve as role models for many young people." He added, "We will continue to expand and develop the Youth Award, making every effort to realize a Gangwon Province where youth play a leading role."
