On September 5, Yecheon County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Kim Hakdong) held a special lecture for about 120 students of Yecheon Senior College at the meeting room of the Yecheon County branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association.

Kim Hakdong, the governor of Yecheon County, is giving a special lecture at Yecheon Senior College.

This special lecture was organized at the invitation of Yecheon Senior College, and featured open communication on the direction of county administration, key current issues, and the social roles of seniors.

During the lecture, Governor Kim introduced the vision and ongoing projects of the 8th popularly elected administration, stating, "Senior College is more than just a place of learning; it is a space where seniors can take pride and actively participate as key members of the local community." He added, "I hope you will continue to share new knowledge and experiences, leading vibrant and healthy lives."

He particularly emphasized, "Yecheon County will continue to expand welfare policies and leisure programs so that seniors can enjoy better lives," and said, "The community solidarity built through Senior College will become a great driving force for local development."

Meanwhile, Yecheon Senior College, which opened in April and runs until November, is inspiring a passion for learning among seniors through a variety of programs, including health and culture lectures, singing classes, and cultural excursions. This special lecture served not only as an educational milestone for the college but also as an opportunity to strengthen intergenerational communication and community cohesion.

The special lecture at Yecheon Senior College was significant in that it was not simply about conveying policies, but rather served as a genuine platform for reflecting the lives and voices of seniors in county administration. In an aging society, learning and participation have become both the rights of seniors and a driving force for local development.
