Police Question CEO Baek Jongwon Over Alleged False Ingredient Origin Labeling

Baek Jongwon, CEO of The Born Korea, appeared before the police for questioning. He is under suspicion of falsely labeling the origin of ingredients used in The Born Korea's products.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned CEO Baek for approximately five hours of questioning on charges including violations of the Food Labeling and Advertising Act and the Food Sanitation Act.

The police have received multiple reports and complaints alleging that The Born Korea falsely indicated the origin of ingredients while promoting products such as "Deopjuk" and "Chewy Sweet Potato Bread."

It was reported that, prior to questioning CEO Baek, the police also summoned and questioned The Born Korea's working-level staff.
