Direct Route from Hyangsan-ri to Gimpo Airport Station via Gochon Station and Aramarina Begins September 12
12 Daily Round Trips on Weekdays, 24 on Weekends
Improved Transportation Convenience for Gochon Residents and Tourists Traveling to Aramarina
The 8th popularly elected administration of Gimpo City, which is working to improve transportation infrastructure for the convenience of its citizens, will launch a new route on September 12 that allows passengers to travel directly from Gimpo Airport to Aramarina without transfers.
Gimpo City announced that it has reorganized the large Gimpo Smart Bus, a fixed-route demand-responsive bus, and will operate a new line departing from Hyangsan-ri Hillstate Apartments in Gochon-eup, passing through Gochon High School, Gochon Station, Aramarina, and the logistics complex, and terminating at Exit 3 of Gimpo Airport Station. On weekdays, the bus will run 12 round trips per day from 9:20 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on weekends, it will operate 24 round trips per day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
This new route is expected to greatly improve access to Aramarina for residents of Gochon. In particular, for residents of Hyangsan-ri, who previously had to transfer several times to reach Aramarina, the new line is expected to significantly enhance their transportation convenience.
Additionally, with this route reorganization, the previous line that only operated between Gochon Station and Aramarina will now be extended to Exit 3 of Gimpo Airport Station. This will improve access from Gimpo Airport to Aramarina, one of Gimpo’s major tourist attractions. Previously, there was no direct transportation from Gimpo Airport to Aramarina, but with the introduction of this new route, it is expected to enhance travel convenience for tourists coming from Seoul and contribute to the revitalization of Aramarina.
The Gimpo Smart Bus is a call-based demand-responsive bus that has been operating since June 2023 to alleviate congestion on the Gimpo Gold Line and address public transportation blind spots in Gochon-eup. To use the Smart Bus, passengers can either install the 'Ddokta' app on their smartphones or contact the Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation call center to set their destination. The vehicle will arrive at the designated time, and passengers should check the vehicle number and seat before boarding and then take their assigned seat.
A Gimpo City official stated, "Gimpo City is focusing on improving public transportation convenience for its citizens. We will continue to do our best to create a convenient transportation environment for citizens through ongoing monitoring."
