This program was held over two days from September 3 to September 4, with 850 children from 56 local daycare centers who had been allocated plots in the "Children's Public Garden" participating.
The children took part in a variety of activities, including reading the picture book "Three Soybeans, Three Red Beans," planting red radishes and scallions for kimchi, and making maracas and picture frames using natural materials.
The county explained that through this program, children had the opportunity to plant vegetables themselves and create crafts using natural materials, allowing them to connect with nature while developing cooperation and creativity. In particular, the experience in the garden was evaluated as an opportunity for the children to learn about the value of life and the importance of nature.
Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "I hope this experience has been a meaningful time for the children to truly feel the value of urban agriculture and realize the importance of a nature-friendly life," adding, "We will continue to promote programs that support children's growth and education."
