On September 4, the Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency announced that on August 21 at Jeju National University Hospital, Miran Kim (52) donated her liver and both kidneys through brain-dead organ donation.

On August 8, Kim collapsed while talking with an acquaintance after a meal and was transported to the hospital, but she never regained consciousness and became brain-dead. Kim had already registered as an organ donor 10 years ago and often expressed her wish to donate her organs to her family.

Her family said, "She lived such a kind life that even in her final moments, we wanted her to do something good by saving other lives. We hope that, through donation, at least a part of her can continue to live and breathe inside someone else," explaining their decision to proceed with the donation.

Born as the eldest daughter among two sons and one daughter in Seogwipo, Jeju, Kim was known as a positive, pure-hearted, and caring person who always looked after those around her.

After graduating from high school, Kim worked at the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. After getting married, she raised a son and a daughter and, more recently, ran a restaurant with her husband. She enjoyed reading and taking walks near her home, and as a devout Christian, she volunteered at a welfare center for people with disabilities on weekends.

Her husband, Dongyeop Lee, delivered his final farewell, saying, "You were the teacher of my life. Thank you for making me who I am, standing by me through difficult times after our marriage. I will live happily with our children. Please watch over them from heaven. Words cannot express my gratitude, but I hope you are happy in heaven. I love you."
